Bbumba Wants Banks to Cut Lending Rates Further.

Syda Bbumba, the finance minister, has asked commercial banks to further lower their lending rates to avail cheap credit to finance businesses. "I will shout about high interest rates until they are down. I'm happy that the interest rates are beginning to come down but more needs to be done," she said.

Bbumba was addressing guests during a dinner to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the dfcu Ltd at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel recently.

She said the Government was working towards lowering the cost of doing business by addressing constraints through allocation of funding in the budget to improve infrastructure.
