THE Uganda People's Congress (UPC) president, Miria Obote, has dismissed claims that she reshuffled the party cabinet because of former UN diplomat Olara Otunnu's candidature for the leadership of the party.
There have been press reports that Miria sacked her vice John Okello Okello and others because they supported the candidature of Otunnu for the party presidency, which her son is also vying for.
"I have always communicated with Otunnu. When he told me that he wants to contest for the presidency of the party, I gave him a go-ahead," Miria said.
