A bold attempt to smuggle in around half a kilo of marijuana or 'ganja' into the country through sea on Saturday afternoon was foiled by a joint effort of the Narcotics Control Bureau along with the Royal Customs and Excise Department and the National Registration and Immigration Department.
The drugs were discovered inside the lining of a bag that a 35-year- old man was carrying as he arrived at the Serasa Terminal hall, Muara.
The suspect allegedly was transporting the marijuana from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam through Labuan, Malaysia.
