"The findings reported in this study indicate that patients with rheumatoid arthritis have evidence of inflammation years before the onset of joint pain and swelling. Interestingly, the two markers, TNF and IL-6, are important mediators of inflammation called cytokines and have been targeted by so-called biological therapy.
