Thanks to the Chinese film "If You Are The One" ("Feicheng Wurao"), set in Shiretoko, Lake Akan and other sites in Hokkaido, a "Hokkaido boom" is under way in China.

The Akanko-Onsen hot springs district, which has seen a sharp rise in the number of visitors from China, plans to conduct a promotional campaign to take advantage of the Japanese government's decision to offer individual tourist visas to Chinese nationals from Wednesday.
