Kanu Laws Change to Clip Uhuru's Powers.

Kanu Chairman Uhuru Kenyatta is likely to be locked out of the presidential race in 2012 if a bid to change the party constitution is successful, three top officials hinted over the weekend.

Mr Gideon Moi, Mr Nick Salat and Mr Marsden Madoka said in Mwatate that they were in the process of amending their party constitution to clip excessive powers vested in the chairman and make him share authority with other executive members.

In what might be a sign of his presidential ambition, Mr Madoka said Kanu had the potential of producing presidents and that he could measure up to the task.
