BEC World's stock yesterday fell 2.96 per cent to Bt19.70 at the close, reflecting fears that TV Channel 3 may have to pay much higher fees to MCOT to extend its broadcasting concession.
BEC World subsidiary Bangkok Entertainment, the operator of Channel 3, wants a 10-year extension of its concession from 2010-2020, but MCOT - a state enterprise that operates the Modernine TV station - might want a better deal in return.
Analysts believe this would not hurt BEC much, even if the fee were doubled to Bt400 million a year.
