As we begin the New Year, the focus is on the region and its economy and the various issues that the Chamber should address. We have a diverse region and a myriad of issues to look at. The Chamber, with insight from its members and board of directors, has identified specific priority issues on which to concentrate its advocacy resources. Just as important, the Chamber is reaching beyond past practices and joining with other business organizations, harnessing new technologies, and adding new and important benefits to the improve the effectiveness of its advocacy and member services.

The Chamber's main mission is still to provide a central voice for business in the Southland. While there are numerous interests involved, the Chamber is the only organization whose members come from throughout the region and from every economic sector.
