In 2005 Kenya's anti-corruption czar, John Githongo, became a man on the run. For years he'd been compiling evidence to implicate incumbent president Mwai Kibaki's government in some of the most shameless acts of graft the country had ever witnessed. By publicizing the dirty laundry of the house of Kikuyu--the country's governing tribe--Githongo was risking his reputation and his life.
