TWO TINY CARS FOR U.S.
British boutique carmaker Ariel Motor Co.'s ultralight, superpowerful Atom 500 hits U.S. streets in 2010. The 1,000-pound, two-seat street and track car is powered by a 500-hp V8 that propels it from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds. Only 25 will be built, priced at $250,000.
The Tata Nano, the world's cheapest car, is also coming stateside, Automotive News reports. Officials said the Nano will arrive in the States in about two and a half years. The Nano launches in July in India with a price of $2,200. A larger European version is due in 2011 and will cost less than $5,000.
