Amid news of General Motors' bankruptcy filing and the near completion of the Chrysler-Fiat deal (with Viper intrigue, see page 8) comes word that Roger Penske will buy GM's beleaguered Saturn division and that Hummer will go to a Chinese company called Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery.
Both Saturn and Hummer will continue to sell U.S.-sourced vehicles, at least in the short run, until life cycles for Saturn's Aura, Outlook and Vue expire in the next two years and at least through 2010 for the Hummer H3 and H3T.
