The teams listed here have announced that they filed entries with the FIA. At least two or three unnamed teams are believed to have done so also.

TEAM PRINCIPAL: Adrian Campos
NEED TO KNOW: Campos drove in F1 for Minardi in the "80s. He sold his successful GP2 team last year but still has a Spanish Formula Three outfit. He has a base from which to operate and, crucially, an arrangement with chassis maker Dallara to build a car; work has begun. He could have a strong investment package, including a partnership with Meta Image and local government support.

TEAM PRINCIPAL: Joann Villadelprat
NEED TO KNOW: The former Benetton, McLaren and Ferrari man has created an impressive new manufacturing base in Bilbao and has successfully produced an LMP1 sports car.
