Tandem Computer this quarter plans to release its first product combining Tandem and Compaq technology -- the Integrity XC -- which puts Tandem's NonStop Clusters for SCO UnixWare on Compaq's Intel-based servers.

The latest version of Tandem's NonStop Clusters, also part of the release, allows for as many as six server nodes and will expand to 16 nodes by year's end, said Bill Saulnier, director of product marketing at Tandem.

Integrity XC is aimed squarely at telecommunications networks.
