ALLIANCE - Fort Worth's lawsuit against the city of Dallas has thrown open the door to accusations that Alliance Airport violates the 1968 bond covenants restricting flights from Dallas Love Field.
"'Glass houses' is the phrase that comes to mind," said Bob Stimson, a Dallas City Council member. "They have opened the door for a legal decision on the 1968 bond covenants. It certainly is a loose end on their part."
Fort Worth filed suit earlier this month after Congress expanded the controversial 1979 federal Wright Amendment in a way that will permit start-up Legend Airlines to fly scheduled, long-haul, passenger service out of Dallas' close-in airport, Love. …
