Sixteen super-luxury hotels in Bangkok and Phuket are joining hands to create what they hope will be a "talk-of-the-town" charity event next month, as their top chefs will serve a gala dinner costing up to Bt25,000 a head for only 350 guests.
The "Bangkok Chef Charity" event, slated for July 27, is set to raise funds for the Sai Jai Thai Foundation at a time when the hotel industry has been affected by a host of negative factors, particularly the global recession, domestic political problems and the outbreak of type-A (H1N1) influenza.
