Fuji Photo Film USA Inc. will introduce the newest member of its digital camera family next week. The $599 Fujifilm DX-9 Digital Zoom Camera is due in March and will feature a 3x zoom lens, removable media and a burst mode.
The camera's 350,000-pixel CCD will be equipped with RGB color filters. Shutter speeds will range from 0.25 to 0.0001 seconds, with aperture settings of f2.4 to f3.3. Bursts of four, nine or 16 images can be captured in sequence at as many as eight images per second, Fuji said.
The 3x zoom lens will be equivalent to a 32mm to 96mm zoom on a 35mm camera. Users will be able to choose from several flash, resolution and sharpness modes.
Users will also be able to preview images on the DX-9's 2-inch LCD monitor, which can be turned off to preserve battery life.
