The new owner of the former McDonnell Douglas Corp. aircraft assembly plant at Port Columbus International Airport is wasting little time filling the old complex.

A partnership led by Schottenstein Stores Corp. already has four businesses lined up to take 800,000 square feet within the sprawling 3.3 million-plus square feet of available hangar, manufacturing and office space.

They include:

* A partnership between Schottenstein Stores affiliate Value City Department Stores and Solon-based retailer Mazel Stores. The partnership, VCM Ltd., will convert 350,000 square feet of assembly space to serve as a 30-dock, climate-controlled distribution center. …
