Vietnam/European Union: EU pledges $994m in aid.

Section: General News - The European Union is to give aid worth 716 million euros (US$994million) to Vietnam this year.

Sean Doyle, Ambassador, Head of the Delegation of the European Commission to Vietnam, said in Hanoi yesterday that almost half the aid was non-refundable.

At the launch of the 11th EU Blue Book, which features an overview of the union's development initiatives in Vietnam, the ambassador highlighted some achievements of the co-operation.
