Byline: DAVE KINNEY
1951 Bristol 401 Coupe
Branson Auction, Branson, Mo.
April 17-18
Replacement six-cylinder block from a Ford Falcon, now fitted with twin SU carbs. Four-speed manual; bucket seats; right-hand drive. Dark green with gray leather. Paint, much older and mediocre, is peeling in places; some missing parts have been resprayed. Almost all brightwork present, but most is weak and needs replating. Plastic turn-signal lenses, once clear, have turned white and powdery with age. Interior shows surprisingly well. What appears to be original leather is still good and shows nice patina. Very good dash still has original, complete gauges.
SOLD AT $16,200
