Mansfield Town will have to pay GBP10,000 for Eastwood Town midfielder Anton Foster.
The Stags have been given permission to speak to the 26-year-old, who captained the Badgers to UniBond Premier Division title last season.
But Eastwood chairman Rob Yong is determined to recoup the cash they splashed on the London-born former QPR trainee to sign him from Buxton last year.
And he said the Badgers will not budge on their asking price.
Foster still has a year left on his contract at Coronation Park.
