A DETERMINED charge by Gavin Kyle Green from five strokes back saw him winning the Kurnia-Saujana Amateur Championship yesterday.

The 15-year-old edged overnight leaders Kenneth De Silva and Iszaimi Ismail by one stroke for his third victory this year. Gavin fired six birdies for the day's lowest score of four-under 68 for a 216 total.

Kenneth, who finished second, suffered two double bogeys - at the par-5 third hole and par-4 ninth.

"I caught up with Kenneth at the 16th hole where I had a birdie. I knew I had to play at least a par-par finish for a shot at the crown," said Gavin.
