CANBERRA, June 3 Asia Pulse - There's disastrous news for those farmers battling a long drought - a dreaded El Nino weather pattern is probably on its way.
El Nino cycles sweep in from the Pacific Ocean and bring extra-dry, hot weather to much of the country.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued a statement on Wednesday, warning there was an increased risk of an El Nino within weeks.
The odds of it happening are now more than 50 per cent.
