May 31--A Boca Raton exhibit featuring more than 40 paintings of Miami native Purvis Young's work highlights many of his conceptual themes and use of nontraditional materials. The paintings on display at EXOR Galleries' "Purvis Young: Raw" exhibit focus on his most prolific and artistically vigorous period from the 1980s and 1990s, said curator Suzanne Khalil. Visitors can admire the works' merits and mull their meanings as well as purchase them from the gallery. Prices range from $450 for small pieces to between $7,000 and $15,000 for large ones.
