Afghan candidate sees incumbent Hamed Karzai as key rival in polls.

Presidential hopeful Dr Abdollah Abdollah sees incumbent President Hamed Karzai as his biggest rival in the presidential election due to be held on 20 August. Dr Abdollah, who is an independent candidate supported by the major opposition alliance, United National Front, has said the reason Karzai is his main rival in the election is the fact all government resources are available to him.

Speaking on Tolo TV's regular weekly talk show "Pors wa Pal" ("Query") on 25 May, Abdollah said: "My main rival is Mr Hamed Karzai, who is currently the president of Afghanistan, and the fact I said Karzai is my key rival and challenge does not mean he enjoys the support of a large number of …
