To complement the growing number of digital cameras in the hands of consumers, Panasonic Corp. and Ricoh Corp. will each soon ship their first digital photo printers.
Digital photo printers do not use a page description language; instead, they print directly from video sources such as digital cameras, VCRs, Digital Video Disc players, broadcast television and video recorders.
Both Ricoh's RXP-10 and Panasonic's PV-PD2000 are based on a dye-sublimation thermal-transfer system and use CMY inks.
