Aside from the usual newspaper, direct mail, TV and radio advertising - what else can a party retailer do to sales? Take a look at these 26 ideas, many of which can be accomplished on a shoe-string budget:

Anniversary parties. Host a party or open house for your good customers and their friends to mark your store's anniversary. Send invites, advertise, post signs, and schedule special activities. Here's your chance to offer discounts, provide samples, display new product, and conduct demonstrations or party planning seminars.

Balloons. Use logo-imprinted balloons to draw attention. Place them in clusters at your storefront to feature and accentuate in-store specials, give them away with every purchase (a floating ad!), and use them in fun contests. (Insert a few prize vouchers in some latex balloons, air-inflate and glue-gun necks to wall. Have your paying customers break one to see if they're a prizewinner.)

Carts. Kiosks and carts are,a great way to expand your selling potential, even if you don t have the resources to open another location. Sell party goods, makeup, costumes/accessories, and balloons in shopping mall corridors, street corners, and other areas where people congregate.

Demonstrations. Seeing is believing. Show customers creative ways to use decorations, how-to make a centerpiece, and ways to use your hot-stamping equipment to imprint practically anything. Demos can be your best selling tool - schedule various times and post in-store signage. Find …
