Blake Bobbitt, the 17-year-old high school student injured by debris at Talladega Superspeed-way (Competition, May 4), was discharged from the University of Alabama- Birmingham Hospital on April 29 after reconstructive surgery to repair a broken jaw. She and her father were sitting in the second row near the start/ finish line when Carl Edwards's car sailed into the catch fencing on the last lap of the Aaron's 499. Edwards called Bobbitt recently to offer his support.
Brad Keselowski, who scored his first Cup win at Talladega, has no ride lined up for next year, other than a Nationwide Series gig with JR Motor-sports. The 25-year-old Michigan native is contracted to Hendrick Motorsports, but that team has no open seats. Dale Earnhardt Jr., owner of the Nationwide team that Keselowski drives for, has no plans to field a Cup car for him.
