Philippines: President Arroyo reiterates call for volunteerism.

Section: General News - President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo today called on the people of Mindanao to unite and volunteer their time, effort and talents to support government in its drive to secure a brighter future for Filipinos and the country.

The President made the call during the one-on-one regional media interview at the Phela Grande Convention center here where she stressed the need for volunteerism as a tool against poverty amid the lingering world economic meltdown and in building a stronger economy.
