A number of speciality chemical suppliers catering to the personal care market are initiating modest capacity expansions in order to take advantage of growth opportunities in certain segments. One such growth potential is in brands with strong 'natural' identities branching into new applications. For example, skin-care brand Aveeno is diverifying into hair-care products and the hair-care line Garnier is branching out into the skin market.
