Fuzhou, 18 May (Xinhua) - While making an investigation and study in Fujian recently, Jia Qinglin, member of the Standing Committee of the CCP Central Committee Political Bureau and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), stressed that it is necessary to give full play to the advantages and roles of the united front and CPPCC committees, to pool the wisdom of people in various circles, and to form a strong joint force to push forward the building of an economic zone on the western side of the Taiwan Strait and promote sound and rapid economic and social development.
