The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey must pay a former employee $349,000 for retaliating against her, a jury ruled recently.
The jury found that UMDNJ passed over Carol Caprarola, former government affairs coordinator, for a promotion after she testified before a grand jury regarding the school's illegal political contributions.
Caprarola had written a memo criticizing the school for maintaining a political slush fund. UMDNJ gave more than $57,000 to state and local officials from a "Community Events" ...
