If you're the stylish sort who wants to flaunt a big-screen TV, not hide it, check out "designer" sets with razor-thin, elegant lines; ultraslim bezels (the frame around the screen); and bold splashes of color. The best combine good looks and fine performance, as our smart choices, below, show.

Among the slimmest are Hitachi's "1.5" series of 1.5-inch-thick LCDs, which house tuners in a separate media receiver, and JVC's Procision-series LCDs, also 1.5 inches at their thinnest.
