Kenosha Hospital and Medical Center is considering an alliance with Aurora Health Care, just weeks after a merger plan between Kenosha and the city's other hospital, St. Catherine's, fell apart.
Milwaukee-based Aurora and Kenosha Hospital said Aug. 6 they had signed a letter of intent to explore a "strategic alliance."
Kenosha Hospital currently has an affiliation with Horizon Healthcare Inc., a Wauwatosa-based competitor of Aurora. Kenosha Hospital chief executive Richard Schmidt declined to comment on how his hospital's discussion with Aurora will impact the affiliation with Horizon. …
