Peter G. Angelos has reached a tentative agreement to buy the downtown Hamburger's building from Baltimore Gas and Electric Co., according to sources familiar with the negotiations.
The deal between the utility and the Orioles owner, brokered by Mayor Kurt L. Schmoke, appears to have put BGE's water-powered heating and airconditioning facility on ice.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"We've been negotiating with Mr. Angelos for several months," said Kathleen D. Nolan, a BGE spokeswoman. "As yet there is no signed agreement."
