A rapidly growing Sacramento company that specializes in chiropractic and accupunture services hopes to hear any day now if it will get a license as a health maintenance organization.

Landmark Healthcare Inc. hopes to ride a wave of interest in alternative medicine by marketing its chiropractic health plan directly to employers.

The company applied for a license as a specialized HMO in December. Landmark expects approval from the state Department of Corporations.

It would be one of three specialty chiropractic health plans in the state, and the only one with a network of chiropractic providers in this region.
