Bidders discuss reduced rice prices.

Thirty-two rice bidders have proposed to the government prices Bt1,000-Bt1,500 per tonne lower than the market figure and Bt3,000-Bt4,000 per tonne below the middle price.

The government targets the price at between Bt14,000 and Bt15,000 per tonne.

Government representatives including the Public Warehouse Organisation (PWO), Foreign Trade Department, Internal Trade Department and the Marketing Organisation for Farmers will negotiate with the 32 rice bidders about a rice price today, PWO's director and acting director-general Nakorm Terasuwanchak said.
