Race-car constructor Lola says it is assessing the viability of entering Formula One, in light of the FIA's proposed "budget cap slated to go into effect next year. Lola claims it is talking to a number of parties to create a Lola-designed, manufactured and developed car, subject to the final 2010 technical and "budget cap regulations. Lola previously developed F1 cars during the 1960s, "70s, "80s and "90s and has built championship-winning cars for CART and other open-wheel and sports-car series.

Prodrive, meanwhile, also thinks the budget cap will allow it to enter.
