Ron Dennis will relinquish his involvement with McLaren's F1 operation to focus on running the newly formed McLaren Automotive. The organization, formerly McLaren Cars, is scheduled to have its new P11 sports car on sale by 2011 ("The Next F1, AW, April 6).
Martin Whitmarsh now reports directly to the board, and Dennis no longer has a formal role within the race team. Meanwhile, racing newcomer Richard Lapthorne joins from Cable and Wireless on June 1 as nonexecutive chairman ...
