Bowing to the recent growth of worldwide interest in collecting classic motorcycles, the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance will include a class for two-wheelers at its annual event on the Monterey Peninsula on Aug. 16.
Amid the bevy of Bentleys, Bugattis and Ferraris on the 18th fairway of the Pebble Beach Golf Links this year will be examples of Vincents, Brough Superiors, Nortons, BSAs, Velocettes, Triumphs and Ariels. This year's class of motorcycles will focus on British bikes built through 1959. Organizers say future motorcycle classes are likely to focus on bikes from specific countries or regions.
