MICHAEL SYMONA FOOD Network Iron Chef, a James Beard Award finalist and the owner of highly acclaimed restaurants in Cleveland and Detroitis known for his trademark laugh, his affable and humble demeanor and his passion for fresh, real food.
He's also passionate about muscle cars, trucks and motorcycles.
"I've been into motorcycles forever, Symon says. "I had dirt bikes when I was a kid and started riding again in 1995. In the summer, I ride back and forth to work every day. Just enough to blow off some steam.
His brother-in-law, a mechanic by trade, builds custom hot rods and motorcycles, and his creations include Symon's two Harleys a 1965 Panhead and a 2001 Night Train.
During Symon's boyhood in Cleveland, his dad was in charge of the 302 V8s at the Ford Brook Park plant. Today, Symon drives a 2008 Ford King Ranch Expedi-tion and says that his dream car is the Ford Shelby. He's stuck mostly to trucks over the years, including a Jeep Wrangler, a Ford Explorer, a Hummer and a Dodge Ram 2500.
