Arctic Fox, long ago had a white coat all the time, all year long.
Life is easy for a fox. Hunting is easy when you are white like the snow and you can hide from rabbits and birds and other tasty treats. And even when the tundra is green, fox is a clever little animal. No one can outsmart fox.

Fox, on a fine summer day, saw a molting goose nesting and eating bv a lake, all her feathers gone. Fox crept over, surprising the goose with, "Mmm, goose is good. Good to eat. You don"t have your feathers on. No flying for you, so I'm going to eat you!"
Goose did not move, not a bill, not a web on a foot. And after a little thought, the goose said, "True, I can't run fast enough, and I can't fly without my feathers on, and you will surely eat me. But before you do, one last wish?"
"A wiley one he is." Fox thought. "Well you didn't run away. What might you say, what might you wish?", said Fox.
Goose begged, "Sing! Sing for me! It is told far and wide, your voice is very fine!"
