(From Bristol Evening Post)
Any lingering residue left over from King Of Dixie's no-show at Doncaster can be wiped away at Lingfield this afternoon.
William Knight's five-year-old had a bit of a nightmare on Town Moor, finishing fifth when sent off the 11-8 favourite for a winnable Listed heat.
Slowly away, he was never travelling with his usual fluency and was hard at work a long way from home.
Most observers acknowledge King Of Dixie is a far better animal than that showing, however, and it could be the ground was far too quick for him at Doncaster.
He showed a good level of form in 2008, with his head defeat in the Group Three Criterion Stakes at Newmarket the highlight.
Perhaps crucially, he also has an unbeaten record on Polytrack, on which he struck gold at Kempton in March.
