(From Bristol Evening Post)
A man whose Brean home was burnt down last year says he cannot wait for the day when he can carry his wife over the threshold.
Ron and Angela Sharrard lost everything except the clothes they were wearing after a blaze destroyed their wooden beach chalet on November 23.
Fire crews tackled flames but they could not save the property at Brean Cove or the couple's two Yorkshire Terriers who died inside.
The couple were left homeless a month before they were due to marry but the community rallied around and neighbours offered them somewhere to stay.
Despite the traumatic fire, the couple married in Brean's St Bridget's Church in December in front of family, friends and supporters.
A fundraiser was even held by The Railway Inn pub in Burnham, which raised GBP560 to send the newlyweds on a fortnight's honeymoon in Fuerteventura.
