14 farm ministry offices ignored job evaluations of unionists
Written agreements stating that job-evaluation reports on unionized workers not be reflected in personnel decisions have long been in place at 14 Agricultural, Forestry and Fisheries Ministry regional offices, sources said Thursday.
The agreements were drawn up in response to demands by ministry employees belonging to the national Zennorin labor union. The new revelation indicates that the job performance-appraisal system has effectively been toothless for years.
The ministry was planning to ask the labor union Thursday morning to abolish the system.
