DHAKA, May 1 Asia Pulse - The National Economic Council (NEC) on Thursday revised the current ADP 10 percent down to Tk 23,000 crore (US$3,325.86 million) from the original allocation of Tk 25,600 crore.
A meeting of the NEC at its conference room with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair approved the revised Annual Development Programme (ADP) for the fiscal 2008-09. This was the first NEC meeting after the present Awami League government assumed office.
The ADP was revised on the basis of necessary adjustments of enhanced demands as well as requests for reduction by the respective sectors and Ministries, Planning Minister AK Khandaker told a press briefing after the meeting.
Of the revised ADP expenditure, 56 percent is estimated to come from local resources and the rest 44 percent from external resources.
The number of projects under the revised ADP increased to 1,032 from 904 existing projects in the original ADP.
