ISLAMABAD, May 1 Asia Pulse - Students of Pakistan's Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI) who have manufactured a fuel-efficient car for a competition in Germany, on Wednesday received sponsorship from the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) project of the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

The team will participate in Shell ECO Marathon, a competition that challenges engineers of the future to design, build and drive a vehicle using the least amount of energy.

In 2008, there were more than 330 teams from across the globe competing to develop the world's most fuel-efficient car. This is the first time that Pakistan has been selected to participate in the competition, which ...
