INDONESIA'S BANK BRI BOOKS Q1 NET PROFIT OF US$163 MLN.(Financial report)
JAKARTA, May 1 Asia Pulse - Indonesian state-owned Bank BRI`s after-tax net profit in the first quarter of 2009 increased 22 per cent to Rp1.72 trillion (US$163.4 million) from Rp1.41 trillion in the same period in 2008, a spokesman said, its president director Sofyan Basyir said.
"The increase in BRI`s net profit is the biggest among the five state-owned banks," Basyir said here on Thursday.
He said BRI`s performance in the first quarter of this year was quite solid where its income from interest also rose 28.93 per cent to Rp8.28 trillion from Rp6.42 trillion in a corresponding period a year earlier.
