Even after burglars entered her locked home, a Tyler, Texas, woman tried to avoid conflict with the men, moving her children into a bedroom and locking herself in with them. Fortunately for the woman and her family, she was armed.

Early on February 6, according to the report published in the Tyler Morning Telegraph, a courageous 31-year-old woman heard several people enter her apartment. Police reported in an official statement that the woman heard the men force entry through a rear door.

Locking herself and her children in a bedroom, the woman retrieved a gun and waited. When the men tried to force entry into the bedroom where she and the children had sought refuge, she fired through the door.
