Not! Autrey's memorable 2007 derring-do of protecting a man having a seizure by covering the man while the subway train sped over both men quickly entered the mind of Chad Lindsey on March 16. But the thought just as quickly exited, as Lindsey decided, "I am not doing that. We've got to get out of here."
And so they did. The March 17 New York Times related a few brief moments of the life of Chad Lindsey--proofreader, actor, subway hero. Lindsey was waiting for a subway train when he noticed a man lose his balance and fall off the platform onto the tracks. "He fell, and immediately hit his head on the rail and passed out." Chad dropped his bag and jumped down to try to rouse the injured man, but it was no good; the man was bleeding profusely and unconscious.
Lindsey yelled to the people on the platform to call the police. As the train quickly approached, that thought of Autrey's dramatic rescue flashed into Chad's mind. And as the thought fled, he grabbed the unconscious man and lifted him up to the platform. "It ...
