I FIRST CAME ACROSS A HIMALAYAN crystal salt lamp when I visited my friend Judy Sim, a cancer survivor of 17 years.
She had one in her living room and it was pretty. As we chatted, she stood up, rubbed her finger on it, then rubbed that same finger, now with salt granules on it, on a tiny cut on her arm.
I asked what she was doing, That is a Himalayan Crystal Salt Lamp. I use it to calm me; it gives out positive energy. I rub the salt on my bites and scrapes, and it helps heal them fast.
Even if I didnt know what to make of it, I wanted a lamp for myself, more for the beauty of it, than to rub my cuts and scrapes or for positive energy.
